Sister Girl

I found this tonight, had to be written last year, but I think its a pretty, sweet piece i wrote to my sister Rashaan.

To my sister, on this day of breath, she manifested.

And let me tell ya somethin, sista~I'm officially entangled in you~the warmth of your heartbeat and the optimism of your strength. I say, thank you sister. You see you made me remember, and again I put those words out to the universe because of you. The glow in your smile. The hope in your words~the pure naivety in~you. I say thank you. You've melted into me and I didn't ask for it, but God knew you were good for me~good for this earth that you have taken as your playground~to enrapture her intricacies of Rashaan~she decided to Cruz(e) it down the 101~because she's so smooth and slow. Like the slow jams of Sade, like the pictures she creates. You see, when they've arrives it's because they chose to come in their time~never rushed. She looks to the other side~and they reassure her~her reason for being here~beating out all that bullshit. She's gifted through them~and she wonders what invokes the colors and passion. It's her sisters, her ancestors speaking through delicate but hardened hands. You see that smile? She was once tired but decided tired was tired and took the longer road, That road guided her back to me~and this sister loves you and this sister is inspired by you, and this sister puts her words back onto the paper that she so loves~because of you. Dance to you own beat, because I dance to mine. You hear it, don't you? It softly whispers come closer sister~you follow that beat and you'll never be lost~it's our bread crumbs sister. We'll always be lead back to each other and ourselves. In my hands you have a home and in yours we have a soul~so don't stop. Relinquish, release, be free
